Maison Solane was built in 1912 for a Lyonnais silk merchant who wanted nothing between his bedroom and the sea. More than a century later it still stands alone on its point of rock at Cap d’Antibes, reached through a pine-shaded garden that falls in terraces to the water.
A seven-year restoration has returned every stone vault, iron balcony and terrazzo floor to its original state, while the services — heating, cooling, lighting — have been quietly rebuilt from the ground up.
