Areia Pavilion is a single roof plane hovering over the dunes of Comporta, held up by slender columns and very little else. The walls are sliding glass; on a still day the house is open on all four sides.
A timber ramp leads from the living room directly onto the sand. Beyond it, the beach runs uninterrupted for eleven kilometres, and in the off-season you are unlikely to meet anyone at all.
